'Crossing Love' cover art

Here is the cover art and working title of my comics due out this February. And may I emphasize "working tiltle" due to my insistent sister (http://hikaru-ryuuen.deviantart.com/) who bluntly criticize my lack of creativity and the fact that it's super duper cheesy hehehehe :P We had the conversation earlier while she's cooking her fried rice, I was like I know right? how cheesy can it get since *explains the plot* so I naturally took that as the title. I fail at titles count to think of it, the characters still don't have names hehehe. Anyway, I'm crossing (got it?) my fingers and hope to finish it before February. Much of the scenes takes place on populated urban streets which is sort of new to me since I've always did mainly portraits and objects and not full-blown backgrounds. Guess I'll have to see.

Also, watch for part 2 of the 'Crossing Love' (stresses working title haha) teaser by the end of January.

I may not be updating my blog for awhile but hey I'm doing like over 30 pages of sequential strips so hehehe

Valentine's Special first look!

First off, I'd like to apologize for not keeping up with the dates just been on and off lately but hey things happen, right? (that's a rhetorical question by the way) Anyway, February is fast approaching and soon the street will be filled with lovey-dovies painting the town red. I for one dread the love month! well at least, that's what one of the characters for my comics and I have in common. If you can't beat them, help them drown in their own crusade hehehehe! Let's get wild! hehehe here's one of my fave Japanese singers (Utada Hikaru being number 1), Namie Amuro based on the Coke Zero commercial. Namie, 33 years old, is a very good performer (and a sexy one too) with a long career spanning over a decade and numerous accolades and she's not stopping anytime soon. I must say I'm quite proud of this piece.

January 13, 2011 - Lady in Red

The beautiful Paula Taylor! While I was cleaning my room, I found a rough sketch I did of Paula posing for a fashion line brand. I'm not satisfied with the likeness. So its not that accurate down to the actual red dress, guess what made me do this was the fact that it was her and the color red. Sorry for the bland background felt lazy to add in additional elements.

January 12, 2011 - Jacket Guy

I missed the last 3 days! Damn! To compensate those "art-less" days, I'll be doing two illustrations for the next two days. How about that? Sounds fair? Anyway, he's another original character with yet another uncreative title and I'm still looking for a fitting name for him. So some inspiration for this particular piece comes from an awesome watch I saw while malling and my combat boots (obviously modified) way back in high school and yep the plushy with a red Mohawk cause I always wanted to make/sew one. I definitely would buy what he's wearing though I wouldn't think it suits me hehehehe.You can see the previous character here. Enjoy. See you tomorrow.

January 7, 2011 - Falling

So guess what I did today - I decided to bake chocolate cookies/ biscuits. I melted an assortment of chocolate bars and folded the gooey goodness on the batter. I was preheating the oven when I noticed that the damn thing isn't working I have to keep pushing the knob for it to continually ignite. Anyway with a little ingenuity (I placed something to keep the knob pressed) I successfully baked them kooky cookies. As I sampled those troublesome mavericks (segways to the illustration hehehe) I felt light and dreamy like falling from heaven?! My drawing skills are getting there I guess.. I wanted the feeling of movement to show through my illustration and I think I did it quite well. I like how it looks at the moment though I will definitely finish this piece. I'll likely post the finished version to my DEVIANTART GALLERY so watch out for it. Enjoy. See you tomorrow.

I had this drawing years ago, I think it was for a contest at DeviantArt or something can't really remember. So I scanned it and painted it with photoshop. He sure was a scruffy dude but I love them details those pores and little imperfections that makes us human and unique.. I'm not really satisfied with this yet I might do this over sometime in the future - I hate that he looks cross-eyed when I scaled it down to this size. Enjoy. See you tomorrow.

January 5, 2011 - Grocery Girl

Almost didn't make it! I guess this is sort of like how I do an anime-style illustration, it's a bit cartoony but still realistic. She's an original character (though I don't have a name for her yet - help!) and you'll probably see her next time. Guess she's like me, she loves chugging down green tea - hell, I noticed that she's all green. Anyway as much as I don't like watermarks I just have to put one. Enjoy. See you tomorrow!

Just a quick drawing for today, I'll be busy with some errands and still have to pick up some equipment in my studio. I know it's kind of bland especially the title/topic guess I'm not really good at naming stuff so there. Yey! My first official post. This is based on the January cover of Gameinformer Magazine which announced the new Tombraider game. I'm so happy that the game is a reboot because while I'm a fan of the series, I've always thought that Lara hasn't been relevant for a long time and with the onslaught of new games that set the benchmark high for quality games - I think it's about time they did this.
